OWN This Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends to come together, slow down, and reflect on all of life's blessings. While that is nice, it's also a time for you to really impress those friends and family by setting up and showing off the most gorgeous Thanksgiving tablescape. We came up with a few tips that you will surely be thankful for.
A Breath of Fresh Air
One way to make the holiday a memorable one? Set the scene in an unexpected place: outside. A cool breeze and birds chirping will be the perfect background noise for table talk, and it will give your guests a unique experience to remember.
For this scene, we used three unique types of lighting on an extended centerpiece; each of which works together to create a stunning display. It's important to choose candlelight that adds height, color and incorporates different materials. Our black Spindle™ candlesticks in a variety of sizes stand tall next to our Will-o-Wisp™ lantern and both work hard to add height to the table (don't forget taper candles!). Lastly, sprinkle in some tealight holders to fill out the space.
One of the most important elements to include on your tablescape is greenery. There are so many options of how to style it, or even what kind to get. We chose to lay eucalyptus garland across the table to soften the look and accentuate all of the coordinating candles. Alternatively, you can style sprigs of greenery in one big vase, or a series of smaller ones for a crisp and clean look.
Setting the Scene
When one sets the table, they set the scene. Give special attention to the place settings and your guests are sure to notice. We chose to add some contrast with a black salad plate on top of white china along with cloth napkins that incorporate classic fall colors, all topped with gorgeous gold silverware (which tie in the gold coloring from our Will-o-Wisp™ lanterns - see what we did there?). Don't be afraid to get creative and defy typical place setting norms. We went edgy this year by setting our silverware in a cluster on the plate.
Another element of this tablescape screams "get comfortable - we are going to be here for a while" and we aren't complaining about it. Incorporating seasonal textured throw pillows and blankets into your dinner scene will not disappoint.
Hunting for the Perfect Place Card Holder?
While turkey hunting season doesn't officially start until the spring, we just couldn't resist taking home these ThomasTurkey™ decorations as a trophy. They are the cutest card holders for your Thanksgiving tablescape. Write your guests' names on the turkey fan, or stick a name card through them. Thomas is quite the conversation starter and guests are sure to gobble up his cuteness.
